- 6 10-yard shuttle sprints
- 10 standing hip-overs per leg
- 10 push-ups
- 10 leg extensions per leg
- 15 Froggers per leg
- 15 jumping split squats per leg
- 100-yard run
- 100-yard walkback
- 2-minute rest
- Repeat for a total of 4 circuits
Core Work
- 1-minute Superman hold
- 2-minute plank
- 20 leg-ups
Workout Journal Notes
It was great to get back with the Saturday morning crowd, and we had about 12 or more people today.
The circuit was relatively short distance-wise, because there was only a small patch of field that wasn’t completely sopping wet, but he definitely made up for the shorter course with higher intensity!
By the time you finish those jumping split squats, your legs are completely dead, then you’ve got to force your legs to go through the motions and propel you as fast as possible to the last cone.
I could tell this was an especially tough circuit, because we rested after each one, which I can’t remember ever doing before.
Normally we complete at least 2-4 circuits before resting at all.
We ended with core work as usual, and I was surprised at how easily I held the plank for 2 minutes, relatively speaking of course!
It will still very difficult, but I felt like I could have gone for another 30 seconds or more.
I’m not sure why, but my core has felt especially strong and solid lately, so I’m going to continue what I’ve been doing to keep those improvements going!
Tomorrow is a big measurement day, as it’s the 2-week mark since I started doing a 24-hour fast once per week.
It still may be a little too small of a sample size, but I’m still very curious anyway.
