Warm-up

  • 30 minutes of dynamic stretching and soft-tissue work

  • One-Arm Dumbbell Presses – 35-pound Dumbbell – Sets: 6/6/6/6
  • Weighted Chin-ups – 7.5 pounds (hanging from dip belt) – Sets: 6/6/6

SuperSet

  • Push-ups – Bodyweight – Sets: 12/12/12
  • One-Arm Dumbbell Rows – 27.5-pound Dumbbell – Sets: 7/7/7

SuperSet

  • Standing External Rotations – 5-pound Dumbbells – Sets: 12/12/12
  • Side Bridge – Bodyweight – Sets: 45 seconds/45s/45s

Cool-down

  • Dead Hang (elongates spine) – 67 seconds

Workout Journal Notes

2 weeks down already!

It seems like I just started “Maximum Strength,” but the time is really flying by, and I’m already half way through the first phase.

I felt great on every exercise today, increasing in all of them, and ready to up the weight again next week.

I’m also holding on longer and longer for Dead Hangs, which means my grip is strengthening as well, while giving my spine a nice decompressing stretch at the end of every workout.

Next week is the highest intensity week of Phase I, so there will be more reps, sets, and pounds packed in.

Tomorrow morning, I’ll be heading to speed camp bright and early, then I’m off to check out “The Dark Knight” in IMAX.

I’ve already seen it and loved it at a regular theater, but it’s supposed to be even better in IMAX, and this is the first feature film where they actually filmed 6 different scenes specifically in IMAX format.

There’s nothing like knowing you’re burning fat, thanks to an early-morning high-intensity workout, all while watching an action-packed movie on an enormous hi-def screen!
