Hard-earned “Zero-a-Day” after yesterday’s intense “Two-a-Day”

Today’s Workout Log

Combined weight training and cardio sessions yesterday for a grueling “two-a-day,” so today is an off day.

Workout Journal Notes

Today’s hard-earned off day made yesterday’s speed camp even more worth it!

I woke up and didn’t have any soreness at all, and I couldn’t have been happier.

I’m loving how well my body has been adapting over the last several weeks.

The same amount of work only a few works ago would have left me feeling terrible the next day, or maybe even with a muscle strain or fatigue during the workout, like the calf pains I was getting.

But, now, even after all the running and jumping we did yesterday, in addition to a weight-training session beforehand, I felt completely fresh, and I’m ready for tomorrow’s workout!

Yesterday, I increased my calories by a couple hundred to account for the extra work, so, naturally, I decreased them by the same couple hundred calories to account for the lack of work.

Some people train this way on a regular basis, by doing their HIIT right after weight training with days off in between, and I could definitely get used to that, but I’ll see how effective it is this week first.

Even though I enjoy the day off and probably did even more total work than I would have otherwise, it stills feels a little awkward taking a full day off, and I feel like it may be giving my body too much of a break.

But, we’ll see on measurement day of course!
