Workout Journal Notes

Today was the coolest (weather-wise) day yet, since I’ve started doing outdoor sprints.

That’s one of the things that was so nice about the exercise bike: I could use it any time, in the comfort and perfect temperature of my own home.

But, the difference that doing real sprints has made has been remarkable, and I can’t believe it, but I actually enjoy running for the first time.

There just doesn’t seem to be any substitute for getting out there and giving 100% in the real world, instead of spinning in place on a stationary bike or treadmill.

All that said, it was still nearly 60 degrees, so it’s far from really cold, and I plan on keeping on even into the winter, so this was just a warm-up –er– cool-up?

I just wore some long pants and two shirts, and by the 10th sprint, I already needed to take the top shirt off.

Once it gets colder, I’ve already got a Under Armour Men’s Coldgear Longsleeve Crew, and I may get some of their ColdGear thermal pants as well.

I ran 16 40′s last time, so I made sure to top it and completed 17 today. I want to try and improve with each HIIT workout, just like I do with weight training.
