Workout Journal Notes

It was nice to not have any clusters today! HIIT almost felt like an off day by comparison.

I felt a slight soreness in my chest for the first time in a long time. It wasn’t painful at all, just that nice tightness that lets you know you got in a really good workout.

Also, I forgot to mention I felt some ab soreness yesterday from Monday’s Bar Rollouts. They must have really hit some different areas and/or stabilizer muscles that weren’t getting enough attention.

That’s just what I love about this program, “Maximum Strength,” it’s challenging, fun, and producing great results so far!

So, today, I did some dynamic warm-ups, then marked off 40 yards on the field with a bright orange Gatorade cap I found lying on the ground (watch out McGyver!).

Of course, the 40 yards may not have been perfect, as I just did a quick walk-through estimation, but I’m able to get within 5 yards, plus or minus, and I usually overestimate if anything.

I started out planning to do about 8-10 sprints, but I still felt great at that point, so I kept going all the way up to 15.

It was nice to really feel the recent endurance work and speed camps really paying off.

In fact, I could have done a couple more, but all I could think about was tomorrow’s leg cluster!

Speaking of which, even though they are extremely tough, in some weird, masochistic way, I’m actually looking forward to it.
