What Were You Doing at 6AM? Here’s what I was…!
You can follow my daily updates here on Geek2Freak, and you can follow my overall weekly recaps every Sunday at FitBuff.com.
Also, for my daily updates from before this blog was born, check here: Personal Daily Workout Log (June 4, 2007 - July 17, 2008).
(I recommend perusing October 2007 and the following several weeks, as those were especially turbulent times, including major jaw surgery, being wired shut, and losing nearly 20 pounds in 7 days!)

Workout Journal Notes
I actually made it. The alarm went off at 5am, and thankfully, my excitement trumped my sagging eyelids.
As planned, I headed to Speed Camp this morning, which starts at 6am, instead of the usual Saturday session I attend, which starts at a more respectable 7:30am.
I mentioned it yesterday as a bit of a joke, but it was indeed completely dark for the first half of the outdoor workout.
All that aside, it was surprisingly fun and certainly an effective wake-up call!
The main circuit was a bit more running-based today than usual, with only one non-running move mixed in, but those uphill jumps were pretty intense, especially as my legs got more and more tired with each lap.
The ending core work was extremely tough, holding two positions for a full 90 seconds.
By the 60-second mark, I was grunting like I was in labor and giving birth to a 20-pound baby, and on the Superman’s, my entire body was literally vibrating!
The best part of it all was realizing at 7am that I had already completed an intense workout that would be benefiting me for the rest of the day.
Actually, one other best part was that my calves held up the entire time, even though I’ve only had 3 days off since Saturday’s speed camp.
My left lower leg is slightly tender, but after some research, that just seems to be a slightly inflamed Achilles and is easily remedied with a few stretches.
It’s already diminishing and is nowhere near as uncomfortable as the right calf pain was, so everything is all good, and I can’t wait for my third day of “Maximum Strength” tomorrow!
